Talk and Reception: Ja’Tovia Gary

Gary will not only show clips from past and current works, she will also discuss some of the conceptual underpinnings of her practice. For Gary, applying an “ethic of care” to her work with the archival materials she researches and utilizes is integral to her working method. She is focused on addressing challenging topics but always with a sensitivity and focus on the individuals touched by these often painful, difficult subjects.
