Rachel M. Straughn-Navarro has a PhD in Art Education with supporting areas of interest in Information Science and Learning Technologies, and Museum Studies. Dr. Straughn-Navarro received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The George Washington University in Archaeology, and her Master of Arts in Classical Archaeology from the Department of Art History and Archaeology at the University of Missouri. Her research interests include university art museums, museum studies and art history pedagogies, and speculative realist and object-oriented philosophies.
While working at the Museum of Art and Archaeology at the University of Missouri, she was awarded the Missouri Art Museum Educator of the Year by the Missouri Art Education Association. She spent three years as the Kress Interpretive Fellow and K-12 State Outreach Coordinator at the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas before joining the AD&A Museum.
