Art Together: UCSB Partnership High School Art Project

Submit your theme-focused artwork as it relates to your intrepretation of California Dreamin'

Maximum size (including the frame, if framed)  16" x 20"

Support: paper, thin canvas board, photographs

Media: all dry 2D media is acceptable; paint (must be dry), pencil, pen, collage, photography, multimedia graphics

Finished piece may be framed or unframed. 

Turn in your art to your EAOP Site Coordinator by March 15, 2016.  If selected, your artwork will be on view from May 1 to May 31, 2016 at the Student Resource Building or the Museum office area.  It will be returned to you at the beginning of June. 

The art work will be judged on the basis of articulation/engagement of the California Dreamin' theme as well as technical ability in chosen media by the artist.

The judges will be two Grad students - one art major and one art history as well as two Curators with the Art, Design & Architecture Museum.

Save the Date!  Art Together 2016 will be held on Friday May 20, 2016.

What will the day be like? 

  • Arrive at UCSB Student Resource Building on campus at 3pm.
  • Receive a tour of important resource offices and contacts found in the Student Resource Building.  See half of the juried exhibition on display in the Lobby area.                     
  • Participate in a question/answer panel discussion with 5 recent UCSB Art and History of Art graduates and hear about what they have going on now that they have a degree in art and/or art history.                 
  • Tour the art buildings area and see open classrooms where artwork is made.                    
  • Tour the Museum office area for viewing the other half of the juried exhibition of works. 


Proceed to the MFA Graduate's reception at the Museum that begins at 5:30pm and join the festivities. 

A GREAT opportunity to see what the Art Department at UCSB is all about!
